Dr. Ramirez St. Petersburg Bariatric Surgeon
I am a fully-trained surgeon From Colombia, and I moved to the United States to continue to grow and excel in the surgical field. I started my journey at Cleveland Clinic Florida as a Research Fellow for two years, and then I went to New York to NYHQ/Cornell affiliated Hospital to do a new Surgery training for 5 years. I returned to Cleveland Clinic Florida for a Clinical Fellowship in Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery for one more year. Since then I started my practice in TMH; I am a Board Certified Surgeon with a focus in Bariatric Surgery, Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery. I am always putting my patients first and delivering the higher quality care in the surgical field with compassion and humility, establishing a personal touch and relation with all my patients and their family members.
I did a general surgery at San Rafael Clinic in Bogota (1999 to 2003), affiliated with Nueva Granada Military University. During my years of residency in general surgery, I began working to achieve greater excellence in the surgical field. After my residency in General Surgery, I became an attending surgeon working in different hospitals. I did multiple presentations at national and international surgical conferences, including multiple video presentations on innovations in laparoscopic surgery, and gained more than 10 years of experience in the field.
